Energy efficiency grants for residential properities

Injecting Cavity Wall insulation

Council approved energy saving scheme set to continue helping Broxbourne residents save energy and money

The Council backed scheme Herts Essex Energy Partnership (HEEP) is a successful energy saving campaign, consisting of 15 local authorities across Hertfordshire and Essex, including Broxbourne Borough Council.

There has been an overwhelming demand from local residents with HEEP helping over 10,100 homes in Essex and Hertfordshire become energy efficient by providing grants, discounts and loans for energy saving measures.

HEEP has helped residents save enough lifetime carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to fill around 1,537,833 double-decker buses.

HEEP was set up in July 2009 to help alleviate fuel poverty and reduce fuel bills. The scheme was due to end on 31 March 2011, however due to the success of the campaign HEEP will continue to help homeowners and private tenants save energy by providing home insulation for free* or at a discounted rate for those on means tested benefits, which will be installed by council approved installers.

By insulating your loft you could save around £145 every year and £110 every year by insulating your cavity walls**.
