Fraud and Error
Benefit fraud is theft of public money and
costs each taxpayer in the region of £9.00 every week.
If you have information about someone who is commiting benefit
fraud which you would like to report, you can do so by:

information is accurate. If you are not sure, leave the field

The Council will take seriously any allegation
of benefit fraud but we can only take official action against the
perpetrator if we have enough evidence which we have lawfully
obtained ourselves.
Every case will be looked into but will be
prioritised according to the seriousness of the allegation and the
department’s current workload.
You do not have to give your name, but can do
so if you wish. We will never disclose your details and
only contact you if we need to discuss the allegation you have made
in further detail. Due to Data Protection rules, we are not allowed
to feedback any information about the investigation back to
you.
