Miscellaneous Income

The Council sends out bills for Council TaxBusiness Rates, as well as service specific invoices such as:

  • Housing Benefit overpayments
  • Community care alarm equipment and service
  • Drainage and sewer clearance
  • Pest control
  • Building control fees
  • Planning application fees
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Hall hire
  • Rents for allotments
  • Hostel and bed and breakfast rents

 

In addition, the Council issues the following invoices to commercial customers:

  • Commercial rents, service charges and Insurance
  • Liquor licences
  • Trade waste
  • Clinical waste

 

All invoices show the date they are due for payment.  The Council would appreciate prompt payment of every invoice.  When making a payment please quote the invoice number shown.  Invoices, which are issued either annually or quarterly, may be paid monthly by direct debit.  Please contact invoice@broxbourne.gov.uk or 01992 785555 and ask for the sundry income section if you wish to pay this way.

 

Alternatively, Direct Debit Instructions are available to download by clicking Direct Debit Instruction in the Related Links section.  Please ensure that you write your account number in the box provided before returning it to the Council.

 

All invoices should show a contact name and an extension number which can be reached via the main Council number, 01992 785555.  If you have a query, the Council will be able to explain why the invoice was raised and which service was provided.  Should there have been an error when the invoice was raised the council will credit all or part of the invoice promptly.


 

Having difficulty paying a bill?

It is important that you contact the sundry income section promptly, either by email at invoice@broxbourne.gov.uk or telephone on 01992 785555 ext 5820 or 5633, if you are unable to pay the invoice on the due date.  The Council take action to collect all invoices issued; this can be avoided if you make contact.  If an invoice remains outstanding the Council will take legal action to secure payment.  Any legal fees, costs and interest incurred are payable by the customer and will increase the amount due.
