Hertfordshire Low Carbon Innovation Network

The Hertfordshire Low Carbon Innovation Network is a project to support SMEs to bring innovative, low-carbon technologies for the built environment, to market. 

Eligible businesses will be provided with free innovation support from BRE to help grow their offer.  Those businesses whose ideas are judged to most closely match the needs of the hotels and to be technically viable will be invited to present their solutions at a pitch event with potential buyers.

The Hertfordshire Low Carbon Innovation Networkwill help local businesses develop and test carbon solutions. 
This project is particularly examining the needs of hotel operators, social housing Landlords, District-scale developments and Infrastructure providers.

NRG Gym, in Watford Town Centre, has reduced its annual electricity bill by £2,000 by upgrading fluorescent lighting to LEDs.

Satellite Creative, a design agency in Tring, has taken a whole-office approach to reduce its energy bills and carbon footprint.

New measures supported!

We are now able to support pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, water efficiency measures, waste reduction methods, renewable energy technologies and battery storage systems.

Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available to SMEs to cover up to a third of project costs. Download our updated toolkit here >
