An introduction to procurement

Understandably, applying to work for the Council can be a complex and lengthy process. The purpose of this section is to:

Provide the business community especially SME's (small to medium size enterprises) and Third Sector (voluntary and community organisations) with an explanation of how and why the Council's procures
Enable the business community and Third Sector to gain greater access to the Council for the purpose of selling their goods, works and services
Encourage businesses and Third Sector to both compete for the Council's contracts, and to develop greater partnership opportunities between larger organisations that supply to the Council and smaller businesses and organisations who wish to supply to the Council
The Council aims to give you as much information as you need to get started in doing business with us and explain what we buy and the way we buy them as well as offering advice on our procurement process.
