Business Rates Appeals

You can appeal against your rateable value if:-

  1. the Valuation Office Agency changes your rateable value and you disagree with the new valuation, or
  2. there is a material change in circumstances which you believe affects the value of your property, such as:
  • a change in its physical state or use
  • a physical change in the locality
  • a change in the use of a neighbouring property.

If you cannot reach agreement with the Valuation Office Agency you have the right to appeal to a Valuation Tribunal.  Information on the tribunal service is available from the Valuation Tribunal Service website.
