Employment on key employment sites
The key employment sites in the Borough include:
- Park Plaza: contains the
biggest printing works in the world owned by News International,
employing around 400 staff. The site also contains a Travelodge and
a logistical resource facility. The
northern area of Park Plaza has been
designated by the Council as a key site for
development.
- Hoddesdon Business Park: consists of
a 53 acre industrial site located
in North East Hoddesdon on Essex Road, a 29 unit development known
as Impresa Park located in Pindar Road and the Hoddesdon Industrial Centre located in Pindar
Road.
- Brookfield Farm: 28,159 sq m of retail
floorspace.
- Hoddesdon town centre: 35,600
sq m of retail floorspace.
- Waltham Cross town centre:
39,614 sq m of retail floorspace.
- Cheshunt district centre: 19,640 sq m of retail
floorspace.
- Delamare Road: location of Tesco national
office.
- Hertford Road: location of Merck Sharp and Dohme national
office.
- Britannia Road: an industrial employment area in Waltham
Cross.
Development opportunities
The Council has produced a gallery
to provide information, including planning
briefs, on the key sites available for development in the
Borough, such as Park Plaza North and Hazlemere Marina.
Brookfield Farm
Brookfield Farm includes retailers such as Tesco, Marks and
Spencer, Next and Boots. A proposal for the expansion of Greater Brookfield is currently being prepared
by the Council to include circa 50,000 sq m of additional retail
floorspace, 15,000 sq m of leisure floorspace and 300
dwellings.
