Olympics and Waltham Cross renaissance

The Lee Valley Regional Park Authority intends that the Lee Valley White Water Centre, which will be the venue for the London 2012 Games white water canoeing events, will be a major leisure attraction for canoeing and white water rafting as well as a venue for future international competition and sports development opportunities. The 2012 Olympics offers opportunities for economic development and tourism in the Borough. The Centre offers the potential for the regeneration of Waltham Cross and the wider area. The Council wants to ensure the Borough maximises the benefits and opportunities provided by the London 2012 Games. An economic development study is being undertaken by Nathaniel Lichfield on behalf of the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, Hertfordshire County Council and Broxbourne Borough Council.
