Licences and street trading

At present the Council has a role in ensuring the safety, health and welfare of persons and animals within Borough of Broxbourne through the provision of licences to premises or persons, required by statute, for certain activities for which the Council is licensing authority.

Where appropriate, we investigate complaints concerning licensed premises, activities and practices. We also provide advice and information on matters relating to licensing.

The Council is responsible for licensing many activities and services.  There is an application fee for each type of licence.

Licences/registrations issued by the environmental health section

• Animal licensing -  animal welfare
• Acupuncture, tattooing, piercing and electrolysis licence information is available under special treatments
• Caravan sites
• Food businesses registration
• Houses of Multiple Occupation
• Authorised Processes (Integrated Pollution Prevention Control) - further information is available on the DEFRA website
• Cooling towers - register of premises available.  There is also information on Legionnaires disease.
