Statement of Licensing Policy

The Council is obliged under the Licensing Act 2003 to publish a statement of licensing policy to which it will abide when exercising its functions as a licensing authority. The Council currently has a policy covering the period 2008 to 2011. However, it is required to review, re-consult and re-publish its statement every three years.

Following a consultation period, the policy for the period 2011-2014 was agreed at the Council meeting held on 19 October 2010.  The Council encouraged the submission of representations, comments and views relating to the policy from responsible authorities, interested parties and local residents. Two responses were received. The new statement of policy is available to view below and will take effect from January 2011.
