Manufacturing Growth Programme

The Manufacturing Growth Programme provides free advice and co-funded grant support to manufacturing SMEs helping them to:

·         Identify opportunities and create plans for improvement and growth

·         Work with the best external experts to implement those plans

·         Cover 35% of the cost of implementing the plans through a growth/improvement grant

·         Connect to wider business support to maximise opportunities for growth

The minimum grant available is £1000, and there are a possible two grants available per business.

Residents are reminded of fly-tipping consequences

Broxbourne Council is warning anyone tempted to fly-tip rubbish of the consequences of doing so, after the prosecution of Grant Gilham, a Waltham Cross resident who was sentenced to 10 months in prison for fly-tipping.
The serial fly-tipper set up an illegal waste disposal business, without the required environmental permit and dumped household waste at numerous locations across North and East Hertfordshire.

Woman prosecuted for Blue Badge fraud

A woman who fraudulently used a Blue Badge to park in a disabled bay outside The Laura Trott Leisure Centre has received a criminal record.
Jade Penny, aged 27, of Cavell Road, Cheshunt, was fined and ordered to pay £1,437.66 at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on 22 September 2017.
Charges were brought by Broxbourne Council for falsely displaying a Blue Badge that didn’t belong to her, an offence under section 117 of the Road Traffic Act 1984.

On Friday 15 September, Snow White and her companions sang ‘heigh-ho’ all the way to the Spotlight Theatre to launch this year’s professional Christmas pantomime, which will be staged between 13 and 30 December.
