Over 1,000 visitors attended this year’s Open Day

This year’s Open Day proved a great success with circa 1,500 visitors attending the community event at the grounds of Bishops’ College on Saturday 6 July.
 
The yearly event brings together local businesses, charities, entertainment, as well as the opportunity for visitors to meet and speak with Broxbourne Councillors, officers, and even members of local emergency services.
 
Despite the weather being gloomier than in previous weekends, the crowd was able to fully enjoy all that was on offer on the day.

Councils select Development Partner

Broxbourne Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council have selected Sovereign Centros as their development partner for a £400 million mixed use scheme at Brookfield Riverside, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.
 
Located at the Turnford interchange on the A10, and just three miles north of junction 25 of the M25, the 50-acre Brookfield Riverside site is regarded by many as one of the most attractive development opportunities of its kind in the country.

The Real Thing – Feel the Force Tour 2019

Multi-million selling soul band, The Real Thing, are ready to give their much loved disco-inspired hits a new lease of life, with an extensive UK tour, stopping at the Spotlight, Hoddesdon, on Saturday 7 September at 8pm.

 

Featuring the group’s two original vocalists, Chris Amoo and Dave Smith, along with their 5-piece band, the trio deliver a funky ‘in your face’ show, with a strong retro vibe, mixing the band’s classic songs with contemporary sounds.

 

Psychic Sally to visit the Spotlight

World renowned psychic, television and theatre star, and the UK’s favourite award-winning Medium Sally Morgan is returning to the Spotlight in Hoddesdon.

 

The phenomenal interactive show will run for two sensational psychic nights on Friday 6 September and Thursday 28 November, celebrating Sally’s ten year anniversary show. Sally’s jaw-dropping show has attracted amazed reviews from theatre-goers and psychic fans, and unsurprisingly enough, Sally is one of the UK’s most successful touring acts and has been wowing audiences across the country for the past 10 years.

 

Celebrating the Magic of Motown

Music lovers are invited to the Spotlight, Hoddesdon, on Saturday 21 September at 7.30pm as the memorable Magic of Motown show comes into town.

 

Seen and enjoyed by over a million people within the UK, it’s no surprise that this show is one of the biggest success stories in British theatre history.

 

Visitors will prepare themselves for 40 back-to-back Motown hits, glittering costume changes, dazzling dance moves and outstanding musicianship in this explosive concert experience.

 

Kidz Klub receives ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted

Kidz Klub offers a safe, fun and stimulating environment for children aged between four and 12 years. Every day is fun-filled at the Ofsted registered Kidz Klub, with a wide variety of sport, creative activities and dance. Kidz Klub works alongside parents and carers, as well as other professionals for additional support, and to ensure that all children are safe and enjoying themselves.

Kidz Klub runs from Thursday 25 July up until Friday 30 August, Monday - Friday.

Armed Forces Day at Broxbourne Borough Council

On Monday 24 June at 10am, Broxbourne Council marked Armed Forces Day at a flag-raising ceremony at Bishops’ College in Cheshunt.

 

Councillor Siobhan Monaghan introduced the ceremony, and was joined by Mayor of Broxbourne, Councillor Steve Wortley, Councillor Aaron Banks, and the Leader of the Council, Lewis Cocking, along with representatives from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Army Cadet Force.
