What is Broxbourne in Bloom about?
Broxbourne in Bloom is about making the Borough look its
best. It is an annual competition open to all residents,
businesses and community groups within the Borough of
Broxbourne. There is a full range of categories and prizes
are on offer for all winners.
The aim of this event is to enhance the Borough, making it a
more colourful place to live and work.

Anglia in Bloom
For the last four years, the Borough has entered the
regional competition Anglia in Bloom. This is part
of the ntional competition, Britain in Bloom - the
leading horticultural competition to improve the local environment,
organised by the Royal Horticultural Society.
Past successes of Anglia in Bloom include:
- 2007 - Bronze award in the Small City
Category
- 2006 - Silver award in the Small
City Category
- 2005 - Bronze award in the Small City
Category
- 2004 - Bronze award in the Small City
Category
- 2003 - Silver award in the Small City
Category.
- 2002 - joint third place (Bronze
award) in the City Category and Certificate of Merit for Best
School Project (Dewhurst St. Marys CE Primary School)
- 2001 - second place (Silver Award) in the
City Category Gold Award for the Best Conservation Area for
Cheshunt Park
- 2000 - third place in the City Category and
Winner of the Least Litter Trophy

Getting involved
Anyone can get involved with Anglia in Bloom - Borough
residents, schools or local businesses can all help in one way or
another. Even by recycling, composting and picking up litter you
are doing your bit. Any budding horticulturists or local
businesses who would like to join the Anglia in Bloom working
group can contact the Council on 01992 785555 ext 5754.
Make A Difference Day
Make a Difference Day is organised annually by Broxbourne
Council and the Millennium Volunteers. It aims to
improve the local environment and encourage people to take an
active part in improving their local park. There is no age
limit for volunteers. Any resident or group who feels they
can make a difference at the park is welcome to take
part.
The event provides an ideal opportunity to meet other residents
in the Borough and participate in worthwhile work within the
community. Any resident interested in participating in this

and receive more information.
