What is Broxbourne in Bloom about?

Broxbourne in Bloom is about making the Borough look its best. It is an annual competition open to all residents, schools, businesses and community groups within the Borough of Broxbourne. There is a full range of categories and prizes on offer for winners.

 

The 2012 competition is now open.

Residential:

Best large garden (over 20sq m)

Best small garden (under 20 sq m)

Best container or hanging basket

 

Commercial:

Best public house, shop, practice or business frontage.

 

Community:

Best community garden (residential homes, warden controlled homes, housing schemes)

 

Additional awards are made for the following:

Best garden for all seasons (Roy Widden memorial trophy)

Best social housing entry (Edna Lazzari trophy)

Best new entry (Fred Hill memorial trophy)

Best overall trophy

Most environmentally friendly garden trophy

 

All schools within the Borough are sent an entry form.

 

Rules, closing dates and entry requirements

The entry requirements are quite simple – all entries must be on public view within the Borough of Broxbourne and must be live plant material with no artificial enhancements. Entries must be made via the official entry form, and entries must be ready for judging by the closing date of Monday 9 July.

 

Photographs of the garden may be used by Broxbourne Council for publicity purposes.
