Extended Services
Extended Schools Consortia were set up in Hertfordshire in 2007
to work in partnership with local schools to provide access to a
range of services for children and families to improve their
achievement and life chances. As part of Hertfordshire County
Council's restructuring process, Extended Schools Consortia ceased
to exist on 31 August 2011. Funding for extended school
activities has been devolved to schools who can choose if they wish
to pool this funding with other local schools in a local
partnership. Each local partnership will employ and deploy a
number of school family workers (SFWs) who will work closely with
the children's centres within the local partnership area to ensure
effective, joined-up early intervention support for children and
families. Three local partnerships have been established
within the Borough:
- Cheshunt Extended Services - based at Turnford High School
- Churchgate Community Partnership - based at St. Mary's High
School
- Hoddesdon - based at St. Catherine's Primary School
