Local neighbourhood budgets

Broxbourne Council has made available up to £100,000 for local
neighbourhood budgets. The amount has been allocated
across the six local neighbourhood fora on a proportionate basis,
based on the level of population in the area and the level of crime
and disorder incidents.

The Council produces a quarterly
report detailing projects completed during the last quarter, in
response to a request from the Scrutiny Committee. This is the
first Local Neighbourhood
Budgets Summary,
These budgets can be used to fund projects in
the local area and can be nominated by local residents, local
councillors or other agencies. The Council has set very wide
parameters to the types of projects that could be considered, so
provided there is evidence to show the proposal will potentially
improve community safety in that area. Projects could include
fencing, lighting improvements or additional targeted actions
by the Council or the Police to address an identified problem of
anti-social behaviour.
If you wish to nominate a project for
consideration please contact the community safety team on 01992
785577 or e-mail community.safety@broxbourne.gov.uk. For
a list of the latest projects see the related links section to the
right.
