alleyway |
A number of reports to both the Police and the
Council from the community had identified an anti-social
behaviour problem in the alleyway between Aylsham Road and
Cranbourne Road, Hoddesdon. Residents had stated that the alleyway
was being used as a ‘cut through’ by young people who were
gathering in the area. A site visit by the Council identified
empty alcohol bottles, litter and graffiti. One elderly resident
complained that his shed and greenhouse had been broken a number of
times by young people throwing stones.
In light of this, a palisade gate was erected
at either end of the alleyway and close board fencing put in place
to prohibit anyone from gaining access. Keys were distributed to 24
properties that had rear access to their properties. In total this
project cost £1,495 and included anti-climb paint.
