| After - removal of thick vegetation and improved lighting has
reduced occurrences of anti-social behaviour |
The Council received reports from residents of
youths acting anti-socially in the alleyway between Lordship Road
and St Mary’s Church. These included complaints of rowdy
behaviour, driving of motorbikes and mini quad bikes, litter and
alleged drinking. It had also been witnessed that youths have
been gaining access to St Mary’s School grounds by climbing on the
existing barriers and over the school gates.
The works carried out to reduce the
anti-social behaviour included the:
- Removal of overgrown and dead
vegetation
- Installation of an additional street
light
- Removal of existing fencing either side
of footway and installation of a 1.8m high chain link on angle
posts
- Resurfacing of the footpath
The total project cost was £5,250.
