| After - young people can no longer obtain access to the
alleyway |
Reports by the community of young people
gathering in the alleyway at the rear of 2-8 River Avenue
and being anti-social were received by the Council. The concern for
residents was that the alleyway was being used as an easy escape
should the police arrive. On a site visit by the Council,
fly-tipping, rubbish and empty alcohol bottles were found in the
area.
To alleviate the anti-social
behaviour, a palisade gate at each end of the alley and a
length of close board fencing were installed. Anti-climb paint was
also used. Keys were given to the residents at 2-8 River
Avenue as well as the Labour Hall and 142 Rye Road whose properties
backed onto this alleyway. The total cost of the work was
£945.
