Corporate equalities scheme 2009 - 2012 (incorporating
race equality scheme)
The Council's corporate equalities scheme 2009-2012 is based on
the equality standard for local government and incorporates the
Council's race equality scheme. Through this single cohesive
framework the Council aims to ensure that equalities are part of
its business planning, performance management, service delivery and
employment policies. The Council also hopes to promote good
community relations for those who live, work or visit the Borough
and create a community where everyone has equality of
opportunity in respect of employment and access to services which
are sensitive to their needs and aspirations. The scheme includes a
programme of action to meet this aim.
