Broxbourne Council produces a
number of different documents containing information about local
services, facilities and organisations.These documents are briefly
explained on this page along with a shortcut to each one. There are
also links to various external websites that contain information
about transport, statistical and demographic information and local
services.
Sustainable Community Strategy
The Sustainable Community Strategy
covers issues which will impact on the local community such as the
increasing elderly population, reducing the impact of the community
on the environment and the provision of affordable housing in the
Borough. It is designed to promote and improve the social,
economic and environmental wellbeing of the Borough and will set
out the priorities for all public and voluntary sector bodies that
provide services in Broxbourne.
Resource Inventory
The Resource Inventory provides a
summary of local services and social infrastructure serving
Broxbourne. Each topic shows the current provision in the
Borough, discusses relevant issues of service delivery and whether
the issue should be pursued as a priority in the Sustainable
Community Strategy. For many topics, maps are provided to show
where services are located.
Community Audit
The Community Audit
includes information on the local population, an economic profile
of the area, levels of local educational attainment, the relative
levels of deprivation and health. It is intended to provide a
‘snapshot’ of the economic, social and demographic issues facing
the local community as at October 2009. New information
included in the 2009 update of the Audit includes the latest
unemployment figures and up to date health statistics.
Indices of Multiple Deprivation
The Index of Multiple Deprivation
2007 combines a number of indicators into a single deprivation
score for each small area in England. This allows each area to be
ranked relative to one another according to their level of
deprivation. The indicators considered are income,
employment, health and disability, education, skills and training,
barriers to housing and services, and the living environment.
Broxbourne Health Profile
Health Profiles are
produced annually by the Association of Public Health Observatories
and funded by the Department of Health.
Community
Halls Directory
In November 2010, Broxbourne
Council produced a directory of some of the community
halls and facilities in the Borough that are available to hire. The
directory contains information on prices, IT facilities, parking
provision, hall capacity and more.
Accommodation Guide
The accommodation guide
contains information about Hotels, B&Bs, Holiday Centres and
Caravan and Camping sites in the Borough. The guide also contains
hotel listings for nearby areas, such as Hertford, Enfield and
Harlow.
Google Maps
The Council have produced several
'Google Maps' for various pieces of information. This
includes Community
Halls,
train stations and
Neighbourhood Recycling Centres.
Business Directory
The local business
directory is a resource for local businesses and residents.
It contains business information, contacts and advice and will be
particularly useful for companies looking to set-up in the Borough
or relocate here.

The Local Organisations Directory contains
details of local organisations, from clubs and societies to
community and voluntary groups. It is organised into a searchable
format to make it easier for users to find what they’re looking
for.

Transport
Information on local transport can
be found on various websites. Train times and fares can be searched
for on the National Rail
website and Bus timetables can be found on the Intalink website.
Hertfordshire Local Information
System
Hertfordshire Local Information System enables
access to a wide range of data relating to the county of
Hertfordshire. Content includes economic development, community
safety strategies, community and corporate plans, area profiles,
socio-economic data, demographic data, crime and policing
statistics and more.
Herts Local
Herts Local is a service provided by
Hertfordshire County Council. The webpages will contain
local information specific to each postcode, enabling residents to
find out information from who their local Councillor is, to what
day their bins are collected. A link to this service will be
provided here when it is available.

Online
Hoddesdon Online is a web guide to
Hoddesdon town, it contains information on the history of the town
and its monuments, and also keeps users updated with local news and
events that are going on in the area.
