Urgent Care Centre

An Urgent Care Centre opened in October 2009 at Cheshunt
Community Hospital, King Arthur Court (off Turners' Hill), meaning
for many treatments it will no longer be necessary to visit a
hospital accident and emergency department.
The new Centre treats patients who have an injury or condition
that is severe, but not immediately critical or life
threatening. Examples include:
- cuts that may or may not need stitching or other forms of
treatment
- suspected broken bones
- scalds caused by skin contact with hot liquids and
surfaces
- minor infections and illnesses.
The centre includes diagnostic services such as X-rays and blood
tests, along with treatment areas for wound stitching, sprains and
plastering minor fractures. A range of healthcare
professionals are on hand, including GPs, nurse practitioners and
care practitioners. The Centre is open from 8 am to 8 pm
every day (including bank holidays) and you can walk straight in -
there is no need to make an appointment. For more information
