Hospital transport
For people who are in receipt of Pension Credit, Family Credit,
or a Low Income Certificate (HC1) and have a hospital appointment
there may be financial assistance available for the travel costs to
hospital. Contact the cash office at the appropriate hospital
for further details.
Non-emergency ambulance transport is only available for patients
who are unable to get to hospital by any other means, i.e. they are
too ill and/or disabled to use a private car, taxi or public
transport. Patients are screened to assess their health needs
and, where they do not meet the criteria for ambulance transport,
alternatives are suggested.
The
Broxbourne Health Shuttle provides low
cost transport to local hospitals, whether for appointments or for
visiting.
