Shop local feature

Council publishes ‘wraparound’ feature to encourage
residents to shop locally and support the Borough’s town centres
this Christmas
The Council has published a seasonal
‘wraparound’ which appeared in the East Herts Herald
newspaper. The four-page feature is also available in the
related links section on the right of this page.
The ‘wraparound’ includes details on the opening
up of Hoddesdon town centre, late night shopping on 11 December and
Christmas markets in Waltham Cross on 13 and 20 December 2009
between 10am and 4pm. There is also information on additional
taxi rank provision in Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross town centres and
free parking on Saturdays in Council-run car parks in the Borough’s
town centres.
The feature contains details on bids for
external funding to benefit town centres and signs of recovery in
Waltham Cross after Home Solutions moved into the old Amy’s
furniture & Homewares store in the High Street.
In addition, there is information on the new
Urgent Care Centre at Cheshunt Community Hospital, developments at
Hertford Regional College and the two pantomimes taking place over
the festive season; ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Cinderella’ at the Civic
Hall.
