Elections and registering to vote
Local government elections are held every year on a four
year cycle.
During years one to three, a third of the
Councillors for the Borough of Broxbourne are elected each
year.
In year four Councillors are elected to the County
Council.
Polling stations
There are 20 polling stations in the
Borough of Broxbourne and during elections these are open from
07:00 to 22:00.
Advance voting electoral pilot - May 2007 election
At the Borough election in May 2007 the Council carried out an
advance voting electoral pilot which also included electors signing
for their ballot papers. The Electoral Commission published
it's evaluation of
the Broxbourne pilot in August 2007. The objective of the
pilot was to improve accessibility and convenience for
electors.
