Review of polling districts
The Council has undertaken its first four yearly review of
polling places and polling districts. The review concluded that the
current provision of polling places and polling districts largely
meets the needs of the electorate. However, a few areas where
identified where possible improvements could be made and the
following changes were agreed at October’s Council meeting for
implementation:
Summary of Changes
Hoddesdon North Ward
- The northern boundary of polling district AAA
be extended further into Ware Road to encompass the western portion
of polling district AAB with effect from 1 December 2007; and
- Cranbourne School be designated as the
polling place for polling district AAC with effect from May
2008.
Wormley /Turnford Ward
- Hertford Regional College be designated as
the polling place for polling district AEB with effect from May
2009.
Cheshunt Central Ward
- Wolsey Hall be designated as the polling
place for polling district AGB with effect from May 2008.
Waltham Cross Ward
- The polling district boundary between AJA and
AJB be realigned from Sturlas Way to the Borough boundary at the
Holmesdale Tunnel to include those properties on the west side of
High Street, Waltham Cross within polling district AJB with effect
from 1 December 2007; and
- The new community room on the Holdbrook
Primary School site be designated as the polling place for polling
district AJC with effect from May 2009.
Bury Green Ward
- The polling district boundary be revised to
provide for the inclusion of the St.Mary’s School site within
polling district AKA with effect from 1 December 2007.
Flamstead End Ward
- Hertford Regional College be designated as
the polling place for polling district AMD with effect from May
2009.
