Olympic and Diamond Jubilee
The Cabinet agreed to establish an Olympic and Diamond
Jubilee Sub-Committee at its meeting on 6 September 2011. The
Sub-Committee met for the first time on 27 September 2011. The
Sub-Committee will assist the Cabinet by co-ordinating the
Council's work in relation to the preparations and legacy of
the 2012 Olympic Games, and preparations for the Queen's Diamond
Jubilee in the Borough in 2012.
Its terms of reference are:
- To co-ordinate the Council’s work in relation to the Olympics
and the legacy;
- To co-ordinate the Council’s work in relation to the
commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in the Borough in
2012;
- To exercise the executive functions of the Council in relation
to the above except where:
(i) the Cabinet has
given prior notice that it wishes to determine a specific matter
or;
(ii) the sub-committee has
referred a specific manner to the Cabinet for decision; or
(iii) the Constitution provides for the
Council to exercise executive responsibility for a specific matter
relating to the Olympics or the Diamond Jubilee.
