Planning and Regulatory
The Planning and Regulatory Committee’s primary function is to
determine applications for planning permission in the Borough of
Broxbourne, and other regulatory planning matters such as
enforcement. The Committee is also responsible for advising the
Council on some licensing policy issues such as the sale of
alcohol, public entertainment, taxis and gambling. The members of
the Committee are appointed by the Council. The Committee also
determines applications for some licences, in particular licences
to sell alcohol, and those for the provision of late night food and
entertainment – though these are normally dealt with through the
Planning and Regulatory Committee’s Licensing Applications
Sub-Committee.
Meetings of the Planning and Regulatory
Committee are open to members of the public. In addition, members
of the public have the right to address the Committee, to speak in
favour of, or against, planning applications. There are rules in
place concerning public speaking at the Committee and full details
of the public speaking scheme can be found in the related links
section.
The Planning and Regulatory Committee meets
approximately once every eight weeks – around 10 times per year. To
find documents for any meeting of the Planning and Regulatory
Committee, select the date of the meeting from the menu on the left
of this page. Agendas, minutes, reports, details of planning
applications, and information sheets can be found in the related
links section at the bottom right of the webpage for each
meeting.
