The aim of the groups is to encourage the public’s engagement in creating safer communities across the Borough. They consider local solutions to anti-social behaviour problems to help reduce the level of crime and anti-social behaviour and fear of crime in the neighbourhood. A range of local issues has been examined over recent months, including nuisance youths, vandalism, illegal parking and under age drinking. The groups consist of members of the public, and representatives of the Council and police. Other items of general local interest are also discussed at these meetings.
