The Mayor
The Mayor is the first citizen of the Borough, having been
elected by fellow councillors, and represents every section of the
community. The role of the Mayor is non-political and
only members of the Royal Family or the Lord Lieutenant of
Hertfordshire have higher precedence.
The Mayor’s correct title is the
Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Broxbourne and after formal
introductions she should be addressed as Madam Mayor.
The Mayor
Councillor Mrs Perryman has been a councillor
since 2004. She was born in London but her parents moved to the
West Country where she was educated at a boarding school. She has
lived most of her adult life in Hoddesdon. Mrs Perryman has
one son and three grandchildren who live in Hampshire, and most of
her family remain in Devon.
She commuted to London for many years and
worked as a financial director’s p.a. then moved on to an
accountancy practice in Finchley. Eventually she decided to become
self-employed in Hoddesdon.
She is an Independent Custody Visitor in the
county and, as an animal lover, is also a Dog Welfare Visitor
for the Herts., Beds. And Cambs Police Dog Unit.
The Deputy Mayor
The Deputy Mayor for this year will be
Councillor Michael Iszatt.
