Education and learning

Most education services are delivered locally by Hertfordshire County Council's Children, Schools and Families department. The department brings together the services provided by the County Council's former education department and the children and families part of social services. 

The Borough is also home to the main campus of Hertford Regional College (HRC). The College has a second campus at Ware, another hairdressing training centre at Birchwood School Bishops Stortford and outreach NextStep centres in Waltham Cross and Bishop’s Stortford. 

Hertford Regional College offers academic further education and vocational courses in a wide variety of areas as well as higher education foundation degrees.

There is also an employer responsive team that can assist with the training of staff through apprenticeships and other programs.
