Licence - riding establishments

The Riding Establishments Acts 1964
and 1970
The act regulate riding stables offering lessons to
members of the public. In addition the new Animal Welfare
Act 2006 is updating previous legislation.
Any person, who runs riding establishment must obtain a
licence.
A riding establishment is " the carrying on of a business of
keeping horses for either riding or hire, or the purpose of
instruction for the return of payment"
All applications for the above licences need to be
made in writing by completing the application form and returning
the completed form along with the relevant fee to:
Environmental Health, Borough of Broxbourne,
Bishops College, Churchgate, Cheshunt, EN8 9XE.

fees are not refundable.
The conditions that relate to
the above establishment are a requirementt in order to
obtain a licence.
