Building control
Welcome to the building control pages.
Building control is a mandatory regulatory
function contained in the Building Act 1984 and it is the duty of
local authorities to enforce the Building Regulations within their
districts, together with allied functions.
Building control undertakes the following
functions:
- Protect the health, safety, welfare and convenience of persons
in or around buildings.
- Ensure access to and the use of buildings for all persons
regardless of age or disability.
- Conservation of fuel and energy in buildings.
- Water efficiency and safety measures in new dwellings.
