Flood Risk in the Borough of Broxbourne

 

Large parts of Broxbourne are within the flood plain of the River Lea and have been identified as 'at risk' by the Environment Agency. A map and insert post code is available for further information.

 

Fortunately problems are rare and there are no recent notifications of naturally occurring flood damage within the Borough. The last recorded flood damage was to two properties in Ripley Way on 29 October 2000 and no further incidents have occurred since.

 

Flooding may occur for a variety of different reasons and each has a different line of responsibility. The main types of natural occurrences are
