Highway improvements

Work undertaken on highway improvments includes verge
adjustments for emergency vehicles and freighter access which will
improve means of access and road safety. This will also
prevent verge damage by caused by freighters. Verge
protection measures will also be undertaken, including double
kerbing and posts and tree planting.
- Through 2011/12 and onwards traffic management measures will be
re-evaluated, and new parking controls will be considered. A review
of both on street and off street parking will be undertaken.
- Short lengths of footway will encourage walking over
driving
- A new footway/cycleway
bridge has been built over the A10 north of Theobalds,
Waltham Cross to aid access th the new St MArys High School and to
provide a safe footpath link from West Cheshunt to Waltham
Cross.
- A new footway/cycleway scheme along Winston Churchill
Way has been constructed as part the
Council's capital programme to link to the new Paul Cully
footbridge.
New street nameplates will be installed as required.
Suggested improvements for Waltham Cross
and Hoddesdon town centres.
