Opening of the High Street
Hoddesdon High Street was opened to vehicles in December 2009 to
support shopping in the town centre. It is anticipated that local
residents and visitors will be more inclined to make short trips to
the town centre, due to the easier access and improved parking
facilities. The opening of the High Street has created 23
additional short stay free parking spaces, two disabled parking
spaces and two loading spaces within the one way system from
Conduit Lane through the High Street to Amwell Street. This has
made shops more accessible and easier to visit.
Parking arrangements were simplified in April
2011 so all on-street parking in the town centre has
a one hour waiting with no return within two hours limit.
