Parking

Cars in carpark Broxbourne Borough Council is responsible for the maintenance and enforcement of parking controls of 12 pay and display car parks in the Borough.   Enforcement is carried out under what is known as Civil Parking Enforcement, this is governed by The Traffic Management Act 2004.

On Monday 21 April 2009, Broxbourne Council introduced a trial of on street parking charges in the Old Pond area.  This includes Newnham Parade, Lynton Parade and Windmill Lane outside Wolsey Hall.  The purpose of this trial is to manage the parking demand in a town centre location where there is a significant amount of pressure on the available parking spaces.

The purpose of parking enforcement is to provide better traffic management to encourage sensible and safer parking to improve traffic flow, highway safety and increase the availability of parking spaces.
