Charges in the Council's public pay and display car parks

 

Park Mark

The Council runs 11 car parks throughout the Borough, the majority being pay and display. Recently seven have received the Safer Parking "Park Mark" Award

 

Broxbourne Council's 20 year lease for the car park at Theobalds Grove station expired in 2008  an the car park has been run by National Car Parks (NCP) on behalf of Network Rail since 21 January.

 

A new pay and display car park has recently opened in Station Approach Waltham Cross.

 

Broxbourne Council has negotiated an arrangement with the Lea Valley Regional  Park Authority to manage the car park at the former Lido site in Old Nazeing Road, Broxbourne.  This will begin on 16 October and will be operated on a pay and display basis from 3 November 2008.

Charges in private car parks are determined by the land owner.

 

Contraventions

A penalty charge notice (PCN) will be issued if:

  1. Parked in a disabled person's parking space without clearly displaying a valid disabled person's badge
  2. Parked in a reserved bay/restricted area/on a yellow line.
  3. Parked causing an obstruction
  4. Parked during chargeable hours without displaying a valid pay and display parking ticket.
  5. Not parked wholly within the bay markings.
  6. Parked after the expiry time paid for in a pay and display car park.
  7. Re-parked within one hour of leaving a bay or space in a car park
  8. Parked longer than 24 hours (six hours for Windmill Lane)

Parking for disabled drivers

This is free to assist disabled drivers and passengers, and spaces are provided near to the pedestrian entrances to car parks. These are for Blue European badge holders only. Please do not obstruct these bays.

Motorcycle spaces

Spaces for motorcycles are being introduced into the car parks. If such spaces exist, please use them. They are usually conveniently placed close to the facilities. At present the charge for motorcycles is the same as for cars.
