CPZ - East of Cheshunt town centre
Controlled parking in the area east of
Cheshunt
The Council's Environmental Services Committee resolved on 18
September 07 not to proceed with a Controlled Parking Zone in the
east of Cheshunt and to look at other ways of alleviating parking
problems in the area.

The committee's decision not to go ahead with a CPZ in the east of Cheshunt
area follows formal public consultation with local businesses and
residents It was considered that the degree of footway
reinforcement required, the associated costs of the works, the
continuous flow of applications from residents in the area seeking
vehicle crossovers and the strength of feeling amongst residents
who are opposed to a parking scheme, would make a
CPZ scheme in
this area inappropriate.
However, it is acknowledged that commuter parking in the
closest vicinity to the Cheshunt Station creates parking problems
for many nearby residents. The Council is therefore looking
at other possibilities, such as on-street permit parking spaces for
residents to ease parking problems in the area.
