CPZ - Four Swannes Area, Waltham Cross
Consultation on a Proposed Controlled Parking Zone in the York
Road area of Waltham Cross

Following the public consultation during March
and April 2008, over a proposed Controlled Parking Zone
(
CPZ
) in the Four
Swannes area of Waltham Cross, the Council’s Environmental Services
Committee considered the results and in line with resident views,
resolved not to proceed with the introduction of a CPZ.
The key results of the consultation were as follows:
40 per cent of the Four Swannes residents
responded to the CPZ consultation, of those:
- 59 per cent did not agree with the
introduction of the proposed CPZ
- 34 per cent did agree with the CPZ
proposals
- 7 per cent were neither for, nor against
the introduction of a CPZ
The Council would normally only proceed with
such a scheme if the majority of residents were in favour of the
proposals.

Construction of a new Council car park at
nearby Waltham Cross railway station has started, with completion
due later this year. The new facility will be able to
accommodate 46 vehicles and will provide some relief to the
commuter parking problems experienced in the area.
