Engineers analysing a planning applicationIf you are intending to carry out changes to your property you may require planning permission and need to submit an application to the Council.  Regardless of the need for planning permission, you may require building regulations approval or you may require the building regulations only.  If in doubt, please contact the building control section on 01992 785566 or by email, buildingcontrol@broxbourne.gov.uk

 

For any enquiries on planning matters please contact the planning section on either 01992 785565, 01992 785567, or by e-mail, planning@broxbourne.gov.uk Alternatively, you can visit the Borough Offices (between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays) where a duty planning officer will be available, or telephone 01992 785510.  In addition, there is a planning officer available between 9.30 am and 10.30 am at the Hoddesdon One Stop Shop on Mondays and at Waltham Cross One Stop Shop  on Wednesdays.

 

Planning portal logoYou can now also submit planning applications online through the Planning Portal.  There is comprehensive information and advice on the planning process across the country. 

 

The Planning System provides a brief introduction to the planning system and explains what planning is for and why it is important.  It gives advice for both the householder and business people, and describes how the planning system works and how decisions are made.  The Policy and Research section of the Planning Portal provides a more detailed look at the planning system, and includes links to Government policy and advice.  In addition, the Volume Calculator enables you to calculate the cubic content of a proposed building.  The Fee Calculator will help you to calculate the fee for your planning application.  The Planning Portal also contains a section on Frequently Asked Questions

 

A guide for design and access statements is now available.

 

It is possible to now make comments on new planning applications, view decisions made and appeals information online.
