Local Plan 2001-2011
The Local Plan is the Borough of Broxbourne Local Plan Second
Review 2001-2011 adopted on 8 December 2005.The Local
Plan sets out how land in the Borough will be used and
developed in the future. It gives guidance on where major
developments should be located and the policies against which
the Council decides planning applications.
The Council also produces Supplementary Planning Guidance and
development briefs. These provide
information on how policies will be applied and standards used to
assess planning applications. Topics include advice on design
and layout, amenity space and technical information required with
commercial applications.

Replacing the local plan to 2021
Major revisions to the planning system including Local Plans
were introduced in October 2004. The adopted plan will gradually be
replaced by a Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDF page gives details of progress and
consultation documents published so far.
