Field Force and Envirocrime
Envirocrime is a term given
to incidents which impact upon the environment in a negative manner
including fly-tipping, graffiti, fly-posting, abandoned vehicles
and dog fouling. This can often lead to a spiralling decline in an
area giving the impression that neither the Council nor the
community care. It has a huge impact on our community, visually
spoiling the area we live in and leading to the perception of an
unsafe environment. It can also, in turn, lead to more serious
crime.
The
Council employs enforcement officers known as “The Field
Force”. The Field Force consists of a supervisor, three
full time officers and one part time officer. All are
accredited under the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme
