More Enforcement to issue Fixed Penalty Notices from September 2010

From September 2010, the Council will be
working in partnership with XFOR, a private company to tackle
envirocrime by issuing £75 fixed penalty notices to persons seen
littering, fly posting, spraying graffiti and failing to clean up
after their dogs. They will target a number of high risk
locations including town centres, parks, major roads and areas

around take-away shops. Through the
scheme the Council is trying to encourage people not to drop litter
in the first place and reduce the amount spent cleaning the Borough’s streets;
currently nearly £1 million per annum.
If there are specific problem areas that you wish the Council to
tackle please email details to environment@broxbourne.gov.uk Alternatively,
telephone the Council’s Helpline on 01992 785577.
