Special street cleaning service
The Council continually seeks to improve the standard
of street cleaning in those streets where persistently parked cars
impede access to channels and in some instances footpaths. As
a result of the Council's recent programme of intensive cleanses,
a new special street cleaning service commenced on 6
April 2009 in order to target hot spot locations in areas
where there has been a build up of detritus, weeds and
litter. Additionally, this team regularly
removes graffiti from public spaces and cleans other
problematic areas.
The special street cleaning team
remove litter and detritus from in between cars and even from the
channels if the cars are parked some 4-6 inches from the
kerb. It is anticipated that with subsequent visits, the
overall condition of these roads
will significantly improve.
