A number of initiatives to improve community safety in the
Waltham Cross area have been introduced, including the:

Neighbourhood Team to the largest in the Borough, consisting of two
police constables and five PCSOs
- development of a police patrol base in Waltham Cross town
centre in December 2008 to put the local policing team closer to
their community
- introduction of an alcohol control zone in Waltham Cross town
centre in February 2009
- introduction of automatic number plate recognition cameras in
April 2009 to deter cross border criminality
- extending the Waltham Cross town centre CCTV system in October
