who have a responsibility for food hygiene and staff supervision.
It aims to give comprehensive training in all aspects of hygiene,
including current legislation. The course is adapted to make it
relevant to the candidate's own organisation. The qualification can
enable you to train at basic certificate level. You will need to
attend for two whole days and eight half days, spread over 10
weeks. There are four short, written pieces of work to be
completed during the course, and a written exam and short oral
test at the end.
A number of other organisations offer similar food hygiene
training. Providers offer courses in other languages
e.g. Italian, Turkish, Kurdish, Bengali and Chinese. The
CIEH website provides
a list of trainers.
