Safer Food Better Business
Since 2006, food businesses have had to have a written Food
Safety Management System.
'Safer Food Better Business' is a scheme for small caterers and
retailers and includes a free training session and pack
which will help you comply.

What's in it for you?
The scheme will save time, money and stress.
Training sessions are available at a cost of £25 + VAT, by
ringing 01923 852245 These sessions provide an opportunity
to get started with the pack which is included in the cost of
the workshop.
Alternatively you can phone the Food Standards Agency direct to
order your free copy on 0845 606 0667.
The guide and log is jargon free and simple to use and will
satisfy an environmental health officer if you use it
properly. You may even be inspected less often.
Once established, the log and documentation will take
about a minute a day to keep up to date. You won't need
to write your own system or pay someone else to do it in
order to satisfy the new leglislation.
Free surgeries or coaching is available at
Bishops College where officers are available to talk through
with you any problems or concerns you may have when completing
or working with the pack.
