Registration -food business

The Council is responsible for all food safety issues within the Borough. There are 560 food premises registered in the Borough. All are inspected regularly dependent on the type of food they prepare.  If you are planning to open a new food business, or if you don't think you are properly registered as a food business, then you must complete a registration form and return it to the Borough Offices.

A registration form is available to download along with guidance for Occassional/Minor Food Business Establishments.

 

The Food Standards Agency supply a helpful leaflet to those setting up a new food business this is called Food Hygiene - A Guide for Businesses

Food businesses have a duty which says that you must take all reasonable steps to keep waste safe. Authorised waste oil contractors must be used and receipts kept as evidence.
