Cheshunt Community Hospital

Cheshunt community hospital underwent extensive redevelopment
during 2005 to double the size of the existing building and provide
more health services for the benefit of the local community.
Operation from the new building started at the beginning of
February 2006 and the whole site opened in June
2006.
The following services operate out of the extended hospital:
podiatry, increased physiotherapy, ultrasound service, and a heart
failure service.
The Council secured additional car parking space in the vicinity
of the hospital, increasing the provision to 44 spaces.
Minor injuries unit at Cheshunt
community hospital
The board of NHS Hertfordshire decided to replace the
urgent care centre at Cheshunt community hospital with a minor
injuries unit (MIU) and this opened in October 2011. Unlike the
urgent care centre this unit will not be a pilot, and thus there is
greater security for continued provision. MIUs are currently
provided at hospitals all over the country, including at Bishop’s
Stortford and St. Albans in Hertfordshire.
Signposting Cheshunt community
hospital
The Council has installed directional
signs in the southern part of the Borough to
indicate the location of the Cheshunt community hospital
so there is an increased awareness of the facility.
