Minor Injuries Unit
A new minor injuries unit (MIU) opened at Cheshunt
Community Hospital in October 2011, replacing the previous
Urgent Care Centre which ran as part of a pilot between October
2009 and October 2011.
Cheshunt MIU provides patients with access to high quality
healthcare. The MIU is for people with cuts, sprains, minor
fractures and other urgent, but not life-threatening injuries.
You don’t need an appointment to be seen. It offers a
nurse-led service that is open from 8am to 8pm every day, including
weekends and bank holidays.
The MIU's experienced nurse practitioners can treat a range
of minor injuries from bites and stings to cuts and grazes. The MIU
does not treat minor illnesses. The website listed in the
related links section contains further information on what the MIU
covers.
